So I went to the health food store to find something to help with my bloat..and the lady suggested probiotic supplemets to be taken up to twice a day with food. She said that my digestive system might be lacking some important bacteria that helps with digestion.Has anyone heard of these and tried them out.Im so scared that maybe after 15 years of bulima i screwed up my stomach or spleen and wont be able to digest and hold food in my stmomach again!! I think you should be fine taking probiotics - they naturally occur in yogurt, etc. I actually just started taking digestive enzymes I got from a naturopath yesterday to help w/ the bloat & it's working :) It doesn't feel completely normal (whatever that feels like), but it definitely helps!
She told me that the anount of probiotic in yogurt is very minimal...she sold me supplements instead.Hope it helps!

I started eating Activia to help with the bloat and have a healthy snack at the same time.... So far I'm still feeling the bloat and am having a tough time with digestion....Please let me know how the probiotics work out!! I hope they work for you!!!
Surprisingly enough, the supplements are helping i think...I take twice a day with my meal and i havent been as uncomforatbly bloated lately. I even ate oatmeal and that is the worst for me and it seemed to pass ok..maybe give it a try. It takes a few days for it to take effect!
Were you having issues with passing food to begin with???...that is my problem. I have seen the Philips commercials for probiotics they now have, but looked at them at the drugstore today and figured I would hear how they work first before spending $15 for 25 capsules. No Im a regular pooper...was just feeling bloated and stomach distended,I dont think the supplements help u go the bathrooom but they are helping me with the gassy uncomfortable feeling. Worth a shot..I think in general they help with digestion and maybe can help get our digestive system back on the right track.
i take them in order to help me go. i can't poop without them lol. i abused laxatives for a long time so now i have IBS but the probiotics have helped me. they havent helped with my bloating lately because i keep binging and not purging, so the food has been just stuck in my stomach (well at least that how it feels) so im always bloated nonetheless. but anyways, my point is that they do help me. and im sure if i could just stop binging, they would help with my bloating and gas too.
