Does anyone find that writing lists about all the stuff you have to get done in a day or week helps? I have a ton of anxiety and whenever I get a free moment in my day I just get my notebook out and start making lists. I feel like I am always trying to get myself organized so I can do the most stuff in one day that is humanly possible. I have really high expectations for myself and I think my time management skills are too good because I get so much done I end up with free time. Of course free time means down time which means the anxiety kicks in because I've been running around all day creating stress in my body. That's when my B/P cycles start up. Anyway, lists help me feel good, but then they backfire. Anyone else have a way to cope with anxiety so this doesn't happen?

A particularly low weight serves to maintain eating disorders. A preoccupation with food, depression and a physiological pressure to eat is related to low weight.

Hey there!
It sounds to me like you are doing the extreme of what I hope to be doing........accomplishing goals!!! For that you should be proud! But like all of us it seems, it can become obsessive, just like our e/d!
This may sound cliche, but have you ever thought of practicing yoga?
At the end of your day, it could probably be a great way to decompress, exhale all of the stress from your body and relax your mind.
It is also a great way to isolate parts of your body, really feel them, and relax them.
I am all about making lists.....I think they are a good thing, but I think balance is just as important, and it may be worth a try for you to use that "end of the day" time to breathe and enjoy your accomplishments quietly and in serenity, rather than through a B/P....which lets face it....is a violent/ aggressive expense of more energy.
Again, I am just starting on my journey......my advice is only from a place of opinion and deep thought. I probably have a whole lot to learn from you than you from me.
But I just thought I'd touch base.
Good luck!
And breathe!!! ;-)
Cheers,
Ray

I think yoga is a great idea. My only challenge is that my college offers classes at specific times and I can't always attend them. I will definitely start going to the ones that are available during my downtime. Finding ways to relax and embrace my downtime would help me a LOT. My roommates can just sit and watch tv, but I can't watch tv without seeing a commercial that sends me craving a million different foods and then obsessing about them all night until i finally eat...and then purge. You seem to have a really good idea about where to find and how to create balance. Do you have any ideas about other things to try during downtime that might help me?

Boy, I talk a good game, don't I? LOL
I spend lots of time watching tv/ movies. I SUCK at downtime. Like I said, I am just getting started, and you could probably teach me a whole lot!!!!
I read like mad, listen to music, and now that I have discovered this website, I plan to use a lot of time here!
The reason I suggested yoga is that you obviously have a lot of energy to put into a good positive place.
I think a good book does that for you too.......(depending on the book, of course.)
Do you write? Or draw? or paint?
I know nothing about you, but you seem to express your words quite well, and maybe that can help you push out feelings you might otherwise suppress.
Just a thought.
In any case, good luck! Be well!
Lets talk soon!

Reading sounds like another great suggestion, I will keep that one in mind. I'm just getting started too so I'm pretty eager to try anything.
Thanks again :)

I find lists and keeping track of things makes me stop thinking about b/p. I can make lists about anything, like: top things i'd like to buy for myself, list of chores to do for the week, or even the day, list of prices of things i'd like. Anything.
